WHAT'S NEW?

You know my intense love for all things neutral. Yet lately, I've been thinking about color. Not all colors....just blue. Its been on my mind since I picked up some Ikat fabric {here} a few months back while on an out of town trip with the Mr.
Well then I realized while scrolling through my Pinterest boards late the other night that I had pinned quite a few rooms with blueish green sofas...hmmmm.

This image here below is something I've been holding on to for years...I've been smitten with this room since I laid eyes on it in the pages of Southern Living.
But what really got me was this image below...gah! It's so good! I wanted to recreate this space completely. But I wanted to be able to do it on a budget because if you have all the money to go out and just buy everything you see in a magazine or on Pinterest then interior styling is so much easier. Obviously!! But if you have to stick within a budget like the majority of us then you must be creative. You need to have excellent resources to pull from and thats where Everything But The House comes in! It wasn't that long ago I was raving about this one of a kind website on here!!
I pretty much knew I could find the majority of these items on the EBTH website and you are going to die when you see this beauty I found!!! Shut up! So good, RIGHT!!!

I love this sofa!! {I would totally paint the legs black} I feel like I could do so much with this piece and it fit perfectly in with my plan of recreating this room. Sometime's you just get lucky..this was that day!
Everything in this design board below is straight from the EBTH website! Some of these items are  currently listed and others are from ended auctions.
Every last thing! Which to me is so crazy that not only do they offer all these amazing pieces but at auction prices where the cost is so much lower than retail!
It just goes to show that you if you visit their website regularly you can build a complete room just from shopping EBTH!

Adding in bamboo shades, fun curtain panels and some pillows would pull the entire room together and complete the space!  Every space needs some living elements so don't forget to add in your plants like the current "it" plant, the fiddle leaf fig or my all time favorite... succulents.
I always look for my main pieces first. The largest items that you will place in a room. They will set the tone for the entire room and what better way to stay in budget then to purchase them on the cheap but still maintain great quality.
Whomever walks away with this sofa is the luckiest and I would love to see how they style it in their own space because you can see how I would use it....oh I need more rooms!
You can find a link to all of these items {here}

This is one of those posts where Im most likely going to ramble a bit so feel free to check out at anytime. This is the post that Im writing because I felt the pull to write one and although my initial thought was to finally get the post up about our DIY planked floors, when I went to write it and then edit my photos I realized that my Lightroom membership had expired and now will take sometime in the next 24 hours to start up again! UGH.
But I thought, Im going to write something anyway. Which leads me to this...staying focused on the goal while everything seems to be swirling around you.
I have a major goal and one that I have prayed daily about....Oh, please God lead me down the path that is best for my family. Not the one that I think I want, but the one that will make me a better wife, mother, friend.
I've been working a regular full time job from my home for the past four years and although it can be rewarding it is not where my passion lies. I want to be creative. I want to be around creatives. I want to create and be imaginative and use this gift that God gave me to create something better. I want to make everything around me beautiful and functional and comfortable. Not just in my own home but for others too. I will do this, I am doing this. But this is the thing. I am still working my full time job which has been a real challenge in balancing it all.
My husband is my greatest support and he has pushed me and convinced me to give up the full time gig during the day and go full force with my styling services. It scares me a little but Im doing it.
Life is too short. Something that has been a constant reminder for me as of late.
So, I'm now in the final stretch of my last days with my full time job while still being a mommy and a wife with everything that comes with it. I am also staying up late working on this little design business, trying to find time to blog with something worthy of you reading it.
It can be exhausting but so liberating and exciting at the same time. I can't remember the last time I felt this happy.
But there are those days when I feel like I'm missing the boat. Like I waited too long and it left me on the dock. I unknowingly allow myself fall into the swirling abyss of my own mind where I think I'm too late. But then I have to remind myself that this is my one life and I have to make it wonderful!
So as I write this little motivational message to myself to stay focused, stay positive, don't allow my own mind to make me feel like the possible is impossible, I hope it will give you a little push to do what God is calling you to do.
What it is that makes your soul sing out loud! That one thing that you have hesitated to do because your mind has tried to convince you that you missed the boat! Oh friend, there are so many more boats!!
Hang in there, I'm not alone, you are not alone. We so easily get discouraged by the perceptions of what others are doing and how they are holding it together so perfectly. We so quickly convince ourselves of these things just by looking at one glossy image that was strategically placed on our Instagram feed. Oh you know what I'm talking about.
I needed this pep talk, I hope it helped you too.
Have a wonderful day my friend and stay focused...you are amazing, you will be amazing at whatever you chose to do. You haven't missed the boat.
I love creating spaces in my home that are not only beautiful but are also functional and fun! Like our playroom. Oh this little room of ours! This is our first home where we actually had a real playroom and even though my older two daughters don't really play in here much, my littlest certainly does. I've slowly been turning it in to a space that she will play in during the day while I try my best to get a little work done. As usual, I have big design plans for this room but for now its really all about what is in the room that makes it! And for me its this new baby swing from Hammmade Furniture! Oh my goodness, its the sweetest little swing I have ever seen and the fact that it is also made by this wonderful couple who own the company, well that makes it even more special!
Oh you should have seen the giant smile that spread across her face when she saw it hanging in here for the first time! I think she enjoyed pushing her dollies in it so much she didn't even realize it was for her to swing in also.
When I was little, I shared a room with my brother for quite some time and although it wasn't a terrible thing by any stretch, I would of loved a special room of my own. Giving each of my girls a special place just for them makes me so happy!

We are so happy with the addition of the swing in to the room, its perfect in here. I love the way its finished to look a bit weathered which creates a vintage feel to it. There is a large selection of finishes to choose from which is really nice. I chose Restful White and I think that it came out beautifully!
After receiving our baby swing and seeing the amazing quality of how it is built I had to look at all the other items this adorable shop has to offer and y'all (yes I said it) you are going to die when you see this.......
Is that the most amazing Swing Bed you ever saw!!! Oh my gosh, I want to sleep on this porch every single night of my life....no seriously, I do! I even may have asked my husband if he can build me a back porch to accommodate this beauty. Building a porch to have a swing bed sounds perfectly logical to me!! Yes?!? I could really gush on about this family and the shop they have built but you
must go see for yourself. Not to mention the amazing farmhouse they are building! HERE

To say my life has become a little busier over the past few months would be a major understatement. Its become so busy that sometimes I wonder how I can possibly keep up?
But then that little voice in my head whispers..."It's finally happening and you can do this!"
I can do this!
I can make this one precious life of mine exactly the way I want it to be with lots of hard work and reminding myself constantly that great things take time. They take time and they take organization...lots and lots of organization.
The one thing I noticed over the past few months as my business has grown and my days had become filled with different tasks. I started to feel completely disorganized and that my productivity was slipping away from me. I would crash in to bed at night exhausted but I just didn't feel like I was accomplishing as much as I wanted to during the day.
It was a lot of "Where did the day go?!!"
But then I started to examine how I was spending my time and realized I was losing a lot of hours because I didn't have a plan for each day.  It went something like....
Wake up, start a task, get distracted, feed the kids, go back to task, oops, forgot to put in the laundry, heard something brake, go investigate, clean it up.....wait what was I doing again? UGH!
This is exactly how 7am turned in to 11pm and I couldn't figure out why I hadn't completed the work I needed to for the day. I needed a way to organize my life- a simple way.
Let me introduce you to the 2015 Day Designer by Whitney English
This planner has changed my life. The simple four step process is so easy to follow and has helped me to focus on the important things in my life while at the same time moving forward with my business by creating a plan for not only each day but for the entire year!
The Well Designed Day has been my life saver. This is your daily page to use however works best for you! I love the simplicity of the daily page by giving you a place to write down your top three goals for the day along with your To Do's and a column to plan out how you will execute those goals hourly. I'm not, what I like to call, a "super organizer". That's what I call those mom's who have those monthly spreadsheets with all their kids activities listed, the freezer meal dinners they have planned out for the year, doctors appointments, parties planned and whatever else goes on this massive list of To Do's and Must Do's! Oh my gosh, it makes my head hurt just thinking about the amount of highlighter fumes they must have inhaled! The thing is, it makes me slightly jealous that they can be so organized but then at the same time, I know that will NEVER be me, so when I found the Day Designer, I seriously felt like I finally found my answer.
It gives you a place for realistic goal setting by providing just the right tools to help you navigate your yearly, monthly and daily tasks.
It's simply the perfect tool to assist you in living a well intentioned life.

A few years back we lived in PA right in the smack dab middle of farm country and the best thing about living there were the barn sales.
Have you ever been to one?  Oh, they're the best!
Ton's of old treasures that have been hidden away for years and then one day this sweet old farmer couple decide to open up those giant doors and let you in! I mean it was the coolest thing ever but you had to pass by one to see one.
They certainly don't advertise they are going to have a sale. It's usually just a painted sign on the road that they probably made some years back and every now and again they let a few lucky passer's by in to the barn to score some amazing loot!
Well, since we moved back to IN those days are few and far between because even though we may live in the "country" to some people, its more like suburbia and the barns are few and far between with apparently not a thing to sell in sight!
This is where Rust + Honey has saved me! No, seriously.
It's like this amazing barn sale that I don't even have to leave my sofa to shop!
Lets talk about these mini cupcake stands.....OH...MY...GOODNESS!
They belong in my kitchen. I know I love them when I start thinking of the different parties I can have just so I can use them.
1820 Candles in scented Caramel
Check out this cutie pie birdie bottle opener.

Um, possibly the cutest things ever!
This ceramic measuring cup is seriously my favorite, like its the best and I want it!
I have this thing for tote bags...I just do!

Now truth be told I never found a barn sale with anything close to this awesome because if I did, I would most likely just have moved right in. If you can't tell, I get really excited when I find a shop that speaks to the farmhouse loving soul inside of me. If you're anything like me then I really want you all to check it out for yourselves because I know you will love it too! Its kind of like one of those shops you find and you think "Oh, this is so good, I need to share it with EVERYONE but then immediately think, or do I because its just so darn good!

Now you can really jump for joy because Rust + Honey is offering 15% every $75 purchase
with the coupon code RUST15
{sponsored post, but all opinions are my own and I would tell you anyway}

You may remember our master bedroom here below.
I decided a little over a year ago that I wanted to paint it grey. Oh this grey paint! Its been so popular and I have had so many inquires about it that it has earned its own image on the right hand side of my  blog with a link to the formula! Oh Mr, Grey paint, you are loved by so many but just not me anymore so its time to let you go....at least in this room.
My growing love for clean, airy and minimal interiors has lead back to my one true love...
White!
Then this happened and basically it just spiraled from there...new walls, new floors...new room!
Say hello to our new Master Bedroom!
Be ready for some photo overload!
Our new white washed flooring, completly DIY'd by the handiest husband I know!
I did a happy dance the day we ripped all that yuck carpet outta here.
These floors!!
Gah!!
(this is simply not a word, but it does help me express my intense feeling for them)
These Caitlin Wilson pillows, swoon....it seriously doesn't get any better!!!!
We replaced our distressed mismatched nightstands with these new ones from Ikea. They ended up being the perfect size and height. I had been considering these for our room for a very long time but kept going back and forth. Now that we have them, Im super happy with the decision to purchase them. They have a ton of storage and of course the price is always a driving force behind any purchase, so these won out over everything else. I really couldn't find anything that could compare for what we needed.
The fluffy stools have a new home. Well, mostly because my sweet husband sat on one and sort of broke one of the legs....this is a safer place for them until it can be properly repaired. Well, that and they look pretty cute here, so that too!
Oh my goodness you all, I could simply die over this acrylic frame from Highland Hardware!
If you follow me on IG you may have seen where I posted that I was looking for something to hold my Hermes scarf. This could not be more perfect for showcasing this super special gift and now instead of sitting in a box (where its been the past 10+years) its displayed beautifully in my room!

Our old dresser..still makes my heart happy to see it.
Our Turkish rug also has a new home. Its like it was meant for this space and against the new
hardwoods (tutorial to follow) its so much better here than in the entry.

Im so grateful for the way you all have encouraged me through this process on Instagram and my amazing friends at Caitlin Wilson Textiles are so kind to help me THANK YOU all with a
GIVEAWAY!!!
What!?!?
